I have been in the health care profession for almost 20 years. I began my nursing career as a nursing assistant, worked as a LPN for 6 years before I became a RN in 2004. I received my Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2013 and am currently studying for a Masters of Nursing as an Educator. I have worked for one school year as a substitute for both Hanover County and Louisa County, I am Currently employed by Hanover County Public Schools as a teaching assistant while continuing my work on my graduate work. I will still be employed by hanover County Schools for the 2009-2010 School year.
I work well as a one on one special education aide because my attention is soley on the activities and education of my students. I am a laid back worker, and extremely patient because I find that if I allow myself to get out of shape, then I am not an effective teacher and aide, and my students will see this. I love teaching all ages, but have experience working with college freshman. I believe that these students are at an age where they need to realize their dreams and need help to gain confidence within themselves. My strong point is within Math, but also comprehension.
