I realize that each student learns differently and thus should be approached differently. My teaching style is to exert patience and positive reinforcement for each style of learning. I believe that tutoring is the missing link in a child's education, and that providing structure and follow up is the best method.
I began tutoring as a volunteer in High School. I have since graduated Magna Cum Laude in less then 4 years earning two bachelor degrees in Political Science and Philosophy. I have recently finished my first year of law school in the top 30% of the class. My teaching style involves fun and an active student. Self-discovery is the best way to learn and retain knowledge. I see myself as the facilitator; I give my students the tools, so they can figure out problems on their own and become more self-reliant. I want learning to be fun, involving games, healthy competition and active learning, so students become life long learners. For the past 10 years, I have worked in my community, helping to better the lives of children. At age 15, I began mentoring young girls and volunteering for a non-profit organization, counseling developmentally delayed children and at-risk youth.
