A Little Bit About Me...

I realize that each student learns differently and thus should be approached differently. My teaching style is to exert patience and positive reinforcement for each style of learning. I believe that tutoring is the missing link in a child's education, and that providing structure and follow up is the best method.
I began tutoring as a volunteer in High School. I have since graduated Magna Cum Laude in less then 4 years earning two bachelor degrees in Political Science and Philosophy. I have recently finished my first year of law school in the top 30% of the class. My experience in Political Science, Philosophy, and law have set me apart in grammar, punctuation, and both formal and creative writing. I have most recently privately tutored a high school student in English, Literature, and Writing.

I have taught ESL for 17 years to children and adults from all over the world. I have a strong command of language arts and am experienced at teaching literacy, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, essay writing, phonics, pronunciation, etc. I coordinate the after school enrichment program and annual play at Earl LeGette Elementary School. Having finished a financial planning course, I have also recently brushed up on my math skills. A Little Bit About Me...

For the past 10 years, I have worked in my community, helping to better the lives of children. At age 15, I began mentoring young girls and volunteering for a non-profit organization, counseling developmentally delayed children and at-risk youth. I later went on to become a Behavioral Therapist, educating children with autism. My love for children (and passion for education) was the determining factor in the course of my college career. I attained a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Utah in 2008 (graduating with a cumulative GPA of 3.8).
