Because I enjoy the learning environment and have been in one for 16 years, I have learned much about it. Everyone learns differently, and I feel that it is important to understand the student's easiest way to learn in order to proceed. I believe offering students the chance to use their imagination and to encourage creativity is the best approach to education. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is basic. I feel it is most important for a student to grasp the basics before they can move on to more complicated subject material. I also am a strong believer of parental involvement. A parent knows their children's learning patterns best. I like to use different approaches. Activities that are visually and mentally stimulting help to form a connection between the student and the lesson. It is important to me that each of my student's set and acheive goals.
As a high school student, I attended Tiffin University to gain college experience and credit earlier than expected. I obtained my BA in Social Work and have worked in that field since 1993. In 2005 I began a part time job as an Adult Education instructor for Sentinel Career Center where my primary focus was language arts/writing. I was part of the STAR reading program where I became certified to teach adults to read. In this program and as a GED instructor I have tutored many individuals of varying ages, education levels and backgrounds. In my work as a social worker, I work primarily with children with mental health issues/learning disabilities where the focus is on behavior, organizational,study and communication skills and parenting education.

My experiences as an educator have been numerous and continuous throughout my life. I have a Bachelor in Education 1-8th (Science) I have taught all subjects. Actually I am multilingual. I am native Spanish speaker; I can read, write; translate in my language of origin. I also have five years of French, I read and translate better then speaking fluently the reason I really do have anyone to practice speaking the French language. Currently I am teaching myself Farsi (Persian) language, beside Farsi, Japanese. Currently, I hold a bachelor of history degree and I am working on obtaining teacher licensure at the Masters level in curriculum and instruction: AYA social studies.
I believe that students learn best when they are involved in the process. Therefore I like to put students in charge of their learning-whether it is presenting information gathered for a presentation or helping to develop the topics that will be discussed in a particular unit; as long as they are involved and not passive in the process students will learn. I believe it is my job to act as a guide not a dictator in a students education.
