Teaching is a passion of mine. I am certified in Teaching K-8, ESL and Language Arts with graduate hours in Individualized Instruction. My extensive, rich and varied experience includes over twenty years of teaching pre-K through adults in groups as well as in private tutoring. I have a M.ED in Educational Psychology with experience teaching and tutoring children K-5. I worked for several years tutoring and substitute teaching elementary school age children, including those with learning disabiities. I have spent a year teaching English Conversation skills to adults in Japan. Creativity is important in the learning process and well as discovering ones unique learning style. I believe in developing a variety of different skills and approaches to problem solving. Often there is more than one way to learn new material.

I have worked with different levels of mental health and emotional maturity for several years. I have spent much of my spare time working within the community at youth centers, soup kitchens and veteran administration homes. I feel that working with many different types and levels of human functioning has enabled me to be more able to adjust my teaching and assisting styles to better serve my community. Each person learns at an individual pace. I use the Gardner system of multiple intelligences to facilitate individual learning style. I do not believe something is impossible to learn, or unteachable. Patience is a moral and ethic rule with my personal professional style.
