Experience Summary
Teaching is a passion of mine. I am certified in Teaching K-8, ESL and Language Arts with graduate hours in Individualized Instruction. My extensive, rich and varied experience includes over twenty years of teaching pre-K through adults in groups as well as in private tutoring. I am very comfortable teaching those with learning difficulties and special needs of all ages in the areas of reading , writing, grammar, spelling, basic math, school readiness, GED, beginning Spanish, ESOL, test prep, and study skills. I also have extensive experience in editing for college application letters and for student papers of all types.
Teaching Style
I am very patient and encouraging with a lot of positive feedback. I design my lessons by looking at the specific needs and learning styles of my students with welcomed input from their parents and teachers. Each session is filled with very interactive activities including educational games which I tailor to meet individual needs. It is important to have engaging lessons, especially after a day at school, no matter what the age is of the student. I like to assist my students in building on their strengths to develop their skills in other areas.
