He coaches young students from beginner to advanced level. Some of my students have won state championship, national championship, and/or played in World Youth Chess Championship. My comments on tutoring Chess : I have been a chess player since age 7 - I am rated at 1850. I love to play and teach the game!

In my experience, the majority of students are highly motivated. This is, for me, the key to success. Math to me is like a puzzle... if you can imagine the pieces in your mind, fitting them together in practice is so much easier. I am extremely patient and easy going, even in coaching, most kids gravitated to me because I could speak to them on their level. You have to explain it in a way that kids can understand. Positive feedback is very critical to let them know they are going down the right path.
I have lived in South Jersey all of my life. I received my degree in Accounting from Stockton and have spent most of my career in finance working my way up to Controller for several businesses. When I was laid off, I had always wanted to try teaching and I loved it.
