I am a retired teacher who taught various science courses for 25 years in the Jefferson Parish Public School System. Over the years I have taught biology, chemistry, earth science, physical science, and even pre-algebra. I have a proven track record of results in science education. Many of my students have gone on to have excellent careers as doctors, nurses, dentists, and other science-related disciplines. Also, I can speak a little Spanish although I do not consider myself bilingual. I feel the best way to teach is to put yourself in the student's place. I realize that most science material is totally new to the student so the teacher must not assume that the student just "knows these things."
