A Little Bit About Me...

I love to teach but primarily, I am a hands on teacher. Through my experience, I have learned the importance of reaching all types of learners. I identify my learners right from the beginning and understand if they are visual, auditory or kinesthetic learners. Based on my findings, I combine different teaching strategies. Many students struggle with a different language because they often compare it to their primary language. I try to make students understand that it is a language all on its own and we must not compare or judge, but embrace it and do the best we can to understand it and the cultures that come with it. I have always enjoyed tutoring children; in high school, I actively participated in a youth tutoring program, but I also feel very comfortable tutoring older students and adults. As a recent graduate, I have the unique skill of relating to students on their own level. I love listening to their needs and assessing the situation with great care and concern. There are different learning techniques and all students are different. Once I learn the proper needs of the student, I will be very successful in helping them reach their goals. Everyone has the potentional for greatness, one just needs the right person to inspire.
As a graduate of a sound Liberal Arts College, I've learned that the greatest asset I took away with me was the art of communication. I have earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus in Creative Writing and Spanish.
