Growing up as a bilingual child I spoke Portuguese and English at home. In 4th grade I had exchange students from Spain who lived in my home and I was beginning to learn my third language, Spanish. I knew Spanish was in my future when I became to interested in the culture and language. I have become a Spanish teacher and LOVE going to work everyday. I find it an incredible experience to share my interest with many students and I challenege myself to get them to appreciate the many aspects of the culture and language. As a recent graduate, I have the unique skill of relating to students on their own level. I love listening to their needs and assessing the situation with great care and concern. There are different learning techniques and all students are different. Once I learn the proper needs of the student, I will be very successful in helping them reach their goals. Everyone has the potentional for greatness, one just needs the right person to inspire.
As a graduate of a sound Liberal Arts College, I've learned that the greatest asset I took away with me was the art of communication. I have earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus in Creative Writing and Spanish. I have written essays upon essays, from creative short-stories to my fifty-page senior thesis, and would love to continue working in a position which allows me to use my hard-earned tools.
