Ever since I was little I loved helping other people with school. I spent my summer with my aunt teaching English to Spanish speaking natives and my cousins. Even though I can teach well with large groups I have always felt a child learns best one-on-one. It eliminates competition and helps the child develop confidence in himself and the desire to learn. I like to find the area where a child is struggling and come up with a creative fun way that allows them to learn but also the encourages them to continue working on their own when I am not there. I also believe that it is important to involve the family in order to help the child grow. Whether it is working with them or just encouraging their progress. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching in many different ways, and as a Spanish teacher you must. Progressive theories always worked best for me, I believe in experiencing rather than just memorizing. Group activities, oral exercises, and projects let children be creative and learn at the same time, so that the learning becomes fun.
I graduated from Penn State University in 2005 with a BS in Secondary Education with a concentration in Spanish. I student taught in Pittsburgh, PA at a high school. I grew very close to my students and I will always remember them as my first class. In the spring of 2003, I studied in Salamanca, Spain where I experienced the Spanish culture first-hand and perfected my own Spanish grammar. I love teaching children this language for it is one I truly enjoy.
