My comments on tutoring Chemistry : I am very familiar with all branches of chemistry up to PhD level, and did a two-year post-doc fellowship.

I taught university chemistry for many years, especially the math-heavy courses. After retirement, a friend asked if I would assist a home-schooling family in the sciences. A Little Bit About Me...

I liken tutoring sessions to the repair of a crumbling pyramid. I believe that every student is capable of learning and understanding the material that is presented to them in class, but that due to some reason, he or she does not understand some of the basic concepts that later material adds onto. Hence, the base of their pyramid is unstable. Usually in the first tutoring session, I try to gauge where the student is supposed to be in the material while at the same time trying to figure out where the missing foundation stones are. I first started to study music when I was 11 years old. I grew a love for the clarinet and played for many years in middle school and high school.
