I love to teach high school students and adults that might be struggling. I know they have the ability to learn but each in a unique way. I am hands-on, patient, kind, laid back and even a little unconventional. My goal is to reach into the students strengths and help them bolster their weaknesses through discovery. A Little Bit About Me...

Most of my students are at-risk or attention deficit students, so I employ a style where I emphasize a good set of basic skills and knowing why we use the techniques we utilize. Most of my methods are visual and I emphasize laying down the structure of the solution when useful. I always tell why each step is used. If they know the why, then math becomes intuitive and not just memorized. My methods have been extremely successful and I have tutored many of my co-workers children, including the district manager's son.
I worked as a math tutor as a student worker during my last 3 years of college while working on my BS in Computer Science until 2004. As an CSU-Pueblo senior engineer student, I know how hard some math classes could be. I have successfully passed all my math courses and I am one more class away to get my minor in it. I have helped students in the last 2 years with their math/Spanish courses. Students needed help in the beginning of the semester due to bad grades, through the semester I helped them to successfully improve their grades and review for every exam.
I love tutoring and working with students. I believe that students are capable to achieve and to learn whatever they need if they put an extra effort in their studies. I have learned that every person has different study habits, some things work for someone and others don't. As a tutor I try to find the appropriate technique to help the student in the subject they are having problems with.
