I believe there are multiple learning styles. One of my goals as a teacher is to find each students' learning style and teach to fit their needs. I believe that practice makes perfect but also that learning needs to be fun. I set the bar high for my students and do my best to help motivate them to reach a high standard.
In college I was a nanny to three middle school students for two years. While being their nanny I was also their tutor in all subjects but focused on math. I graduated from SJSU with a major in History and a minor in Mathematics. I substitute taught in January and February 2007 then was a long-term substitute from March until the end of May in a sixth grade math, science, and history combination class. For the past two years I have taught eighth grade Algebra. While teaching I have also tutored a sixth grade student in math.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am very passionate about teaching. I want to do it for the rest of my life so it is something that I enjoy. I love working with children and teenagers. I want to be an inspiration to my students. I want to motivate them to love learning and to find subjects that interest them. I like to teach through discussion and interaction because I believe that the best way to learn something is to analyze it yourself. In this way children and teenagers can learn and can, possibly, find a deeper meaning in what they are doing and as a result enjoy it.
