I have been in college for 3 years now and have a GPA of 3.90. My major is in Biology with a minor in Psychology. I have been accepted for the Honors Research Program at my university. I was selected to receive an academic scholarship from the state of Ohio. I have worked as a Lab Assistant for a statistics course and as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for a Cell Biology and Genetics class. I have tutored approximately 30 students for about a year and a half. I tutor in Biology, Psychology, Mathematics and Statistics. I also help students to prepare for tests such as SAT, ACT, ASVAB and college entry-level mathematics placement tests. When I substitute for a teacher, I want to see a lesson plan. I do not want to be the classroom babysitter. If there is no plan for the day I involve the students in making one. I'm currently working on obtaining my teaching certificate, to go along with my bachelors degree in Social Science. Hopefully, I will be able to go on to receive my Masters in Education. I have been able to tutor students in reading, sentence structure, English and American history. I love teaching and interacting with today's young kids. They fascinate me. Every child has different learning systems and sometimes it takes several tries to reach that special spot that opens the child's eyes to what excites them about learning.
