Experience Summary
I have always worked well with children because I enjoy their capacity to learn. I am drawn to students who feel they are incapable of excelling in subject areas in which they struggle. I also have a gift of working with students who have behavioral challenges and/or special needs to due to a disability. My AA in Early Childhood helped me to understand how the brain develops and how people learn and how to utilize the stages of development in educating people. My BA in Child and Family Studies has given me the ability to see each of my students wholistically and to teach them according to their future goals based upon their background and goals. I have tutored students in every subject from pre-school to college material.
Teaching Style
Teaching children and adults is my life's work. I believe not only can all children learn but I believe all children can excel, if given the motivation and inspiration. I also believe that if children learn to love learning, they will excel in all that they strive to achieve. I believe in making learning relevant and interesting. I am adaptable in my style and approach in education. Due to the fact that our children are all unique, I believe their educators should develop, within their own styles, an approach that is unique for each of their students. I hold high expectations for each of my students but all of my expectations are attainable for the student and I help them to achieve those expectations in excellence.
