My goal is to help students succeed in learning and in gaining confidence. My teaching style is to get the student engaged through multi-sensory and high interest sources. Utilizing student’s strengths helps gain early success and a willingness to grow and be challenged in new areas. I have always had an interest in math and science, and I got my start tutoring in high school by helping fellow classmates and friends in these subjects. I went on to earn my BS in Mechanical Engineering from U.T. Austin. I have also spent much of my life in the world of music and began teaching beginner piano lessons several months ago. My techniques will be customized to the subject and student population. One of the techniques: I will use exercises and team involvement as additional tools for re-enforcement and opportunity of exchange, so that team spirit and creative opportunities can be encouraged and explored. My teaching style is to do whatever works, and to get it done. I pride myself on working with my students on their level and being able to understand their personal barrier to grasping the material. I am very conscious of not imposing upon them the way it "should be done". The way it should be done is whatever way makes sense to them and as a tutor, I work hard to find this "way". I have developed the patience to work with students at their pace and to also challenge them to expand their boundaries.
