Experience Summary
It has been my privilege to teach at many levels and venues over my career which started in the mid 70’s. Elementary Education was my first major, and I enjoyed teaching in a Christian setting at 5th and 6th grade levels for many years. I opened my own Reading Center to help special students.
Later I went to graduate school at St John’s College. I’ve taught Jr. High, H.S., and Jr. College. Most recently Sylvan Learning Center has given me great experience teaching reading, writing, and math.
Teaching Style
My goal is to help students succeed in learning and in gaining confidence. My teaching style is to get the student engaged through multi-sensory and high interest sources. Utilizing student’s strengths helps gain early success and a willingness to grow and be challenged in new areas.
I consider my 25 years of teaching experience to be a rich storehouse from which I can draw for future opportunities.
