A Little Bit About Me...

I finished high school with the highest math class possible (calculus). I have been tutoring students since I was sixteen and still tutoring. My range of tutoring so far has been pre-algebra, algebra one, geometry, algebra two, and chemistry. I have yet to have a student I tutored fail a class. I have tutor over twenty students most passed the class with an A or B.

More About This Tutor...

Learning goes much deeper than memorizing then eventually forgetting. Learning comes from conceptual understanding of material, building one concept on top of another. I believe that every student has the capacity to learn anything, given they have the basic fundamentals. I prefer to teach using a Socratic method approach, (a means of learning in which the student figures out concepts on their own, with the simple aid of questions). If I do notice a student does not understand a concept in the way I am describing, I try to provide a different means to convey the message. I use various teaching styles that coincide with different learning styles, i.e. tactile, auditory, and visual learning styles, and can use each effectively.

I began teaching at Hesperia Christian in 1995. First, I substituted and then taught part-time, two to four subjects a year: Advanced Math and Drama, 5 years; Biology, 1 year; and Advanced Drama, 3 years. When my son started seventh grade, I began homeschooling. I taught Earth and Life Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Grammar, Vocabulary, English Composition, British and American Literature, Geography, American and World History, Ethics, Social Studies, Government, Sign Language, and Bible. I have been tutoring math and sciences since I have been a senior in college. Most recently I have worked tutoring math and science as a personal tutor in the LA area. I have also taught Biology and Earth sciences at East High School in Salt Lake City, UT for a year, and 2 years at New Community Jewish High School in West Hills, CA teaching anatomy and physiology and Chemistry.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned 2 degrees, B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and an MBA with a concentration in Finance. These degrees have enabled me to have much improved skills in paper writing and math. I have done extremely well in English, Philosophy, and Business writing. In 2008, I became a substitute teacher and it was a great experience working with children of all grades and subjects. Arabic is my native language. I took Arabic classes from K-12 and completed mandatory Arabic examinations by the government of education, which I then earned a certificate of excellence. A Little Bit About Me...

I earned Bachelor degree in Chemistry and is also in the process of getting a doctorate degree in Pharmacy. I also took classes in biological sciences. This has really equiped me with the necessary tools I need to be a good science teacher, as I have been taught by different sets of teachers.
