In teaching, I believe it to be very important to gain the student's interest within the subject matter. With an interest comes greater understanding and retention. Providing a structure that can be worked through systematically can be very helpful in the learning process. Not all students are the same, so one-on-one interaction can help provide a teaching/learning style conducive to the individual involved. I hope to provide an adaptive and effective teaching experience for students in need with patience and dedication.

A Little Bit About Me...

As Cal Poly SLO has one of the most competitive engineering programs on the west coast, I have a depth of knowledge in both math and sciences. After earning my B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, I lived in Germany, Ohio, and Central California while trying to figure out my place in this world. I settled for two years in Salinas, California where I taught pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry to junior high and high school students. I believe this level of math is the most important as applications to everyday life are abundant.
As the school I taught at was private, the students were very competitive. I found my lectures and class activities reached 90% of the students. The remaining 10% were the students I especially loved to instruct.
