As a graduate student at the University of Maryland, I taught Russian 101 to undergraduate students for two semesters. I also taught Russian 101 at the University of Virginia for two semesters as a teacher’s assistant. I taught English as a Second Language through Black Hawk College for two semesters, and I taught infants and toddlers at Best Beginnings preschool and child care center for 2 years and 5 months. I have earned a bachelor's degree in Russian Language and Literature, a master's degree in Russian Linguistics, a second master's degree in Russian Language and Literature, a certificate in Arabic Language, and an associate's degree in Elementary Education. I feel I have a unique teaching style. Because I have tutored students from sophomore in high school to sophomore in college, I have learned to tailor my teaching style to each specific student. For instance, I have used mnemonics, assignment homework assignments, and suggested drawing diagrams or rewriting notes to help students learn. I love teaching. I us a guiding method of teaching. Because I believe that students learn the most when they do the work themselves, but sometimes they need someone there to motivate them or to guide them in the right direction. I feel this works in group studies also, but, the difference being is that all the student will be involved in a group discussion. I am a student that has a drive of excellence.
