Love Kids, Love Writing.

I believe each student is different; therefore, I change how I approach my teachings based upon the individual.
In high school, I was on our school's speech team, I competed at the varsity level all throughout high school. I placed at every competetion, without fail. I placed in advanced English classes in high school, and tested in to the second level of English classes at Western Illinois University my freshman year. I have won state wide writing competetions, and have a poem published in a book of young writers. I went to school for Journalism and Communications, but am currently taking a year off. I have also taken and passed the Illinois basic skills test, and took 2 years of Special Education courses at Western Illinois University.

Making A Difference

In May 2012, I received my bachelors degree in English with a Literature Emphasis and a minor in Writing. I graduated with a 3.6 g.p.a. (Cum Laude Honors.) Throughout college, I took various education courses that focused on educational philosophy and physiology, elementary and secondary concentrations, and students with disabilities. I was able to obtain 36 education credits and in 2009, I was admitted into the school of education at my university where I was able to engage in student teachings, researchers, and observations. A Little Bit About Me...

I love watching and learning from children. I believe that learning is closely related to confidence. I like to take the time to get to know children and understand what they like so that I can better understand how their brain works and how they process information. In understanding what they like, this gives me the ability to let them show me something new. The best way that I retained information in college was to teach someone else what I was studying. I have recently graduated from the University of Delaware and intend to pursue a Ph.D. in chemistry within the next few years.
