Teaching is an art form that involves love, patience and understanding. Each student learns differently and requires different teaching styles. I have had students that need help being focused and I have had students who need to relax to open up the brain waves to learning. My teaching style includes evaluating each students strengths and weaknesses so that I can focus in the correct areas for each.

I prefer to work with small groups of students or individuals as it is easier to meet each student's needs. I am very concise and methodical, but am also sensitive enough to pace myself according to the student's needs. Of course, experience is the best teacher, so I usually review the points that the student has questions on, provide an example of the principles in action, and then help the student work through some problems until he or she understands satisfactorily. I gained my BA in History only after years of serious and devoted study, and I bring a respect for whatever subject I teach to the classroom. After gaining my teaching certification with my MS, I taught history and geography in Alabama. After my Latin American Studies MA. I taught Latin, Greek, and Spanish.
