A Little Bit About Me...

With my bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, I have developed a strong understanding and comprehension of math and science. I have tutored my younger brother in physics while he was in high school and three years ago as a Resident Assistant on a floor specifically for engineering student, I have helped my residents with their college level physics and some calculus classes. I have also taught tennis for two summers for the West Bend Parks and Recreation Department.
I am an easy going individual who attempts to make learning fun and relate it to real life examples. As a student I enjoyed most the teachers who facilitated learning. Teachers who lead students on a road of discovery as they learned, who taught me how to think and not what to think. I model my teaching after the same style I enjoyed as a student. Helping a student discover for themselves the material not only educates them but fosters a passion for the subject at hand. Rote memory has it's place and is essential, but when a student becomes passionate about a subject, then the door is open for them to excel at it. A Little Bit About Me...

I don't have a "one size fits all" approach to teaching; rather, I try to tailor my approach to the learning style of the student. I believe that each and every student has the potential to learn whatever subject matter is being investigated. My math teaching style relies heavily on problem solving and repetition. I believe that a huge part of the learning process involves gaining confidence, so I work very hard in that area.
