There are two ways to write: know your subject wel enough to put down what you think you know in a logical way, or put down what you think, then read it to discover what you have missed and adjust your thinking after learning more about your subject. Seeing the look and smile on the face of a student that finally grasps a concept, or realizes they have just read on their own for the first time, OH What a Feeling!!! I take each child as their own individual knowing they have their own needs in learning a subject. I teach in several different ways as to ensure the child grasps what they need. I see children today as my future for tomorrow, so helping them and making a difference in their lives will make a difference in mine. I have not forgotten any individual I have helped to this day.
After graduating in 1996, I opened my own tutoring service in Dickson, TN. I tutored individuals from public schools and home school in Math, Reading, and several other subjects needed until 2001. I have 33 successful years experience as a guitarist/songwriter/publisher in Nashville. I was staff guitarist for Hee Haw and other TV shows. I have performed on recordings, television and/or in concert with 25 members of The Country Music Hall of Fame. I am currnetly touring the world with singer - songwriter Don McLean - who wrote and recorded AMERICAN PIE and VINCENT.
I teach in a personal, adaptive and responsive style. I listen first, identify the needs of the student and develop a one on one approach to raise their proficiency. My teaching style has been developed from my experience in volunteer literacy tutoring with Hispanic immigrants, and substitute teaching in Davidson and Williamson County Schools. I have always taught music and instrumental skills in the course of my career.
