I am from Kazakhstan but familiar with chess in US. I spent about about 10 months in Cornell University in 2008-2009 years as Fulbright Visiting Scientist with doing chess things, mainly, in Syracuse University. I graduated from the University of South Alabama with a degree in Elementary Education grades K-6. While in school I worked at Sylvan Learning Centers to earn a little extra money. I have taught Kindergarten for 3 years. All of my students were successful.
All children can learn, but in different ways. As a teacher I had to figure out the various ways that my students learned and incorporated that into my lessons. I did a lot of small group teaching and hands on activities. I always did whatever I needed to do in order for my children to be successful.

I enjoy being able to work with children and being able to positively impact their lives whether that be through empowering them to succeed or teaching new skills. Throughout my graduate studies I worked as a substitute teacher from grades pre-k-12; however I especially enjoyed working with younger children as it allows for more creativity and thinking outside of the box.
