I did not graduate from high school but I knew I had to and could put myself through college. It was during this time in my life that I began to appreciate the importance of education. It was after this time that my past situation aided me in landing my first job in education. I was offered a position to teach non-traditional high school students who were just like I used to be. Honestly, I never had thought about becoming a teacher and really did not want to accept the job. After three months of teaching I was in love.
