I graduated from California State University at San Francisco. While there I mastered my major of accounting as well as my minor in economics. I have over ten years' experience in all facets of accounting, audit and taxation. I have always been an exceptional mathematics student and my chosen field has enabled me to remain very strong in this area. I spent one year tutoring accounting students who had difficulty grasping the basic concepts of accounting. I was able to explain the accounting concepts in different wording than the text books and I also created a "cheat" sheet to help them understand how to handle different accounting transactions. My Bachelor of Science in Biology degree was earned at Pennsylvania State University, and I accumulated 124 credit hours with some education courses. For the past four summers I have worked in a childcare setting. Last summer I did an internship at a Headstart and the previous three summers I worked at a daycare. At both places I worked with children of all ages. In May of 2010 I graduated from UW Green Bay with a degree in Human Development and Psychology. I plan on getting certified in Child Life. My favorite jobs that I have had dealt with working with children. I love working with children and making a difference in their lives. I volunteered for the Special Olympics and for the D.A.R.E program from Elementary students back in 2003 and 2008. With the Special Olympics, I helped cook and serve food to the contestants in the olympics and I also was there to be a friendly and supportive coach-assistant to the athletes. With the D.A.R.E program, I went to Elementary schools in the town of Faribault MN, and I worked along side with the police department to show and educate kids the dangers of meeting strangers and how to handle that type of situation. As a Wesleyan graduate, I was interested in curriculum and Graphics and found myself working shortly there after in a youth-centered non-profit doing design work. I enjoy working with inquiring minds and solving problems. I teaching style is individualized because everyone learns in their own way. I like to get to know the prson by asking a few questions that can open up the problem as to why they do not understand a certain subject. Once I have a understanding of what the learning problem is, then I can come up with a game plan to how to make them understand how to conquer their problem. I have been learning everyday of my life, because there is always something new to learn. Life teaches many lessons but what I have come to learn is that education is very valuable.
