Experience Summary
As a parent, I was able to finish my degree in 2003 and return back to college as an adult student. Being a parent as well as a teacher for five years, I saw that the experience of parenting firsthand before actually teaching in the classroom was very beneficial. I love the youth and the teens, and was hired as a Language Arts teacher for a junior high private school for the last five years. I taught English, writing skills, religion, and Literature. Because I was recently a graduate in 2003, I knew that the students needed to learn writing skills and therefore prepared them for for high school writing. I believe in teaching the whole student. I wanted to make a difference in a teens life. I have learned so much from teaching.
Teaching Style
I believe that the youth are in dire need of adults that have a heart to teach. As a teacher of your child, I want to be able to spend that time as productive as possible. I believe in one on one with a child as the best possible way of learning. In our fast pace world, some students need to have that private time to learn and be influenced through just one adult; that one adult could make all the difference in a child's life. I also believe in the power of words. What we say from our heart can be heard through the spirit of a child. I pledge to choose my words carefully. I will strive to make a difference in your child's education and make it a learning experience that is blessed.
