I am a first year graduate student at UNO receiving my Masters in speech-language pathology. At the age of 17, I am considered a Sophomore in college and will most likely be a commissioned Air Force Officer before I am 20 years old. I have aced classes in college English, Math, as well as some sciences. I have three younger siblings and I tend to help them with their homework if they need it. The process is just as important as the product. If a student can come up with the correct answer, but he or she has no idea how or why it is correct or how they got it, I feel like their learning is incomplete. Especially in Math, but also in many other subjects, concepts build upon each other. For this reason, I like to explain not just *how* to get there, but also *why* we got that answer; then students have a firmer foundation for the trickier concepts.
