I've tutored several people with math and homework problems. They have always reported more understanding from me than their teachers, and were very satisfied with the lessons. The lessons were always in-house, but I am capable of helping online as well. Some were 1 lesson, while others were lessons over the course of several weeks to help prepare and pass exams.

In such rigorous programs, both BA's helped me develop skills to attack and efficiently solve any problem that I encountered. Moreover, I improved and honed those skills working in the Computer Science Learning Center as a tutor for two years. I have tutored many different languages in low and high level classes - Java, Python, C, C++, MATLAB to name a few. I firmly believe teaching requires structure. In that regard, the learning process requires a sequences of steps. Firstly, the student must understand the problem to be solved or the skill to be acquired. Secondly, examples are required to show how to approach and solve a prolem. Lastly, overarching concepts can be introduced to unitfy that which is new with that which is already understood. I love working with people and teaching them about the things that I am passionate about. I am very patient and throughout and I have learned a lot of valuable techniques such as asking the right questions to confirm that the student has learned the lesson as well as planning out what the important points are that I need to cover. I also try to illustrate points using a variety of learning styles that over time I can customize to individual students.
Between my studies at Roberts Wesleyan College in the liberal arts field, where I earned a bachelors degree, and my studies in math and computational science I have an exceptionally broad knowledge base.
