A Little Bit About Me...

I have always had an interest in tutoring, starting in Elementary school where I would leave during recess in the fourth and fifth grade to spend time in my past Kindergarten teacher's classroom. There I would read to students, reinforce the teachings lead by the teacher, and serve as a role model. During my middle school summers I would return to that classroom to provide aid for the summer school kindergarteners before they were able to enter the first grade. Upon entry into high school, I joined Project Understanding, a tutoring volunteer organization to serve children from low-income families who were falling behind in a classroom setting and needed some extra time and a different perspective to learn the material expected of them. I Promise that you will have fun while you Learn!

Children say that I am so patient and relaxed. One little girl asked me last week, "how come I don't grate on your nerves? My mom says I grate on her nerves." Well, no child has ever "grated on my nerves" :) Children know I care about them and we develop a mutual respect for each other.

My comments on tutoring Language Arts : Up to 8th grade level

Relaxed and creative. I am very patient and open to using whatever style suits the student best. I tend not to be rigid and strict.
Hebrew: Have been working in a Religious School setting off and on since 1982 helping children prepare for their Bar/Bat Mitzvot. I've been Doing private tutoring for the past year.
