I began teaching private guitar, bass, and music theory lessons when I was 16 years old. I have continued to do so until present day. My emphasis for my Masters was Theory/Composition/Arranging. My primary instruments are guitar and bass, although I went to college on a French Horn scholarship. I have played professionally with a wide arrange of ensembles, from a three piece acoustic trio to a ten piece big band. classical music to folk to dixieland to swing to gospel to rock to jazz, I have pretty much played it all at some point. In my experience as a teacher, i have taught children as young as 4 to retired adults who wanted to play for a hobby. I believe all children can meet their potential if they are given the appropriate surroundings & learning experiences. My teaching style is is very "hands on." Once I know what learning style my student is,I manipulate my instruction according to their different learning styles whether they be visual, audio, etc. I am a firm believer that every child can learn, as long as they have the support they need.
