I have 22 years of nursing experience, and 19 years of teaching in the nursing fields, including high school allied health courses. I majored in English prior to becoming a nurse, so have a great love for, and much experience dealing in - the English language.

Prior to offering piano lessons out of her residence in Waxhaw, North Carolina, Brittany Smith studied classical music for over 15 years all the way through advanced musical literature – 9 of those years being under the professional instruction of Valerie Chamberlin. In 2008, she graduated from the Certificate of Merit with honors through the Music Teachers Association of California. My paid professional teaching experince includes one year working as a Special Education Paraprofessional for 2-4 grade stundents classified with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders. My undergraduate degree from Valdosta State University was in music education.
While some teachers favor a direct instruction approach, I try to tailor my instruction to the growing and diverse needs of each student. Some are more auditory learners than others, therefore, for those you would need a lot of teaching by rote, i.e "do as I do", so to speak.
