Reading Comprehension is one of my top subjects! As a Special Education Assistant, I strive to model a positive attitude, get a feel where each individual is academically, use certain strategies, such as asking certain kinds questions before reading to get each student actively involved in the process. This will not only help them to retain what they have read, but also, build their confidence in learning.

For the past 17 years I have had the pleasure working with K-3rd graders as a Volunteer Tutor, a Special Education Assistant in the Minneapolis, MN Public Schools, and a Supervisor/Teacher of a great organization that helps support mother's in the evenings, while helping to support their children, emotionally,socially and academically. Social Studies and Creative Writing (English)

I like to challenge people to think outside of the box. Although I know it is important to know how to take tests and write papers appropriately, I also know that showing skills that go above and beyond, is what makes a student stand out. Elementary Tutor
