My old next door neighbors have two children. One is a boy in elementary and one is a girl in middle school. I tutored the boy in reading and writing. He was able to read his first book on his own after a few weeks with me. I had to tutor the girl in math. she was taking algebra and was having a tough time with it. In two weeks of many meetings, she was able to pass her final exam. No matter what grade I was in, I always enjoyed going down to the ESE room and helping the special kids. I have taught for 20+ years in Germany (mainly Math, English and Reading) and for 4 years in Kansas City, MO. There I taught all core subjects: Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies. My experience working, as a project manager in construction has been a nontraditional rewarding career. I graduated from Marshall University in the field of Safety Technology. The knowledge acquired from my degree greatly enhanced my ability to perform jobs in the industry without losses due to injuries, at rate comparibly to industry standards. My experiance with children and teaching has been at the substitute level for a combined years of four, primarily middle school.
My style of teaching is relatively comparisons and having the student recognize the use of information as it is used daily. Thus, middle school math is my choice and computer science to instruct.
