While in law school I mentored and tutored first year law students along with students at a neighboring high school. I guided first year law students as to which supplemental books to buy, how to decipher a court's ruling and how to respond to a professor's question. I tutored the high school students in Algebra and Literature, all of which I took as an Advanced Placement student, along with studying skills. Further, during the past year I was a high school math tutor with a Kentucky tutoring company in which I tutored mostly Algebra. I have a recent Bachelor's in Accounting, as well as 15+ years of accounting experience in both private and non-profit settings. While working at Thornhill Education Center, I had the opportunity to work with students and help teach GED classes. My main focus was math. I also had the opportunity to teach a level 1 accounting class for community education. I don't think I have really developed a "unique style" by only teaching a year or so. I am a very patient person and I really like to see the "sparkle" in a students eye, when they truly understand something for the 1st time. I like to explain a concept and then give the student a problem and see if they get it. If not, I will go over as many times necessary...until they understand the material.
