Experience Summary
While in law school I mentored and tutored first year law students along with students at a neighboring high school. I guided first year law students as to which supplemental books to buy, how to decipher a court's ruling and how to respond to a professor's question. I tutored the high school students in Algebra and Literature, all of which I took as an Advanced Placement student, along with studying skills. Further, during the past year I was a high school math tutor with a Kentucky tutoring company in which I tutored mostly Algebra. With that being said, I would welcome the opportunity to tutor students again.
Teaching Style
First, I evaluate the student's comprehension of the subject at issue and how the student achieved his/her conclusion, which gives me an insight as to how to approach teaching the student. The student should be taught in simple terms and provided with the necessary tools to tackle and truly understand the subject. In addition, I feel that it is very important to make the student at ease with asking questions, especially questions they aren't comfortable with asking in class, along with the ability to ensure the student is grasping the information.
