Multiple Strategies Used to Manifest Understanding

I am a kinesthetic, visual learner and that is how I like to teach. I was not one of those students who could hear a concept once and apply the it the next second with total understanding. I needed to draw situations out, picture guides, analogies, and other strategies that made it possible for my mind to grasp and understand. In response to growing up with the continuous difficulty of facing teachers who were not fans of nonlinguistic learning, I found a passion in tutoring and teaching in a way that allows students to have multiple opportunities to understand.
I have worked in the lab of a major hospital in Lincoln for 5 years, previous to receiving my degree. The thing I enjoy most about teaching is seeing a concept "click" in a child's head. I feel that this is possible with all children if the right strategy is used to teach them. Students learn in lots of different ways. I feel it would be my job as a tutor to find out what would work in each student's academic life.
