Multiple Strategies Used to Manifest Understanding

I am a kinesthetic, visual learner and that is how I like to teach. I was not one of those students who could hear a concept once and apply the it the next second with total understanding. I needed to draw situations out, picture guides, analogies, and other strategies that made it possible for my mind to grasp and understand. In response to growing up with the continuous difficulty of facing teachers who were not fans of nonlinguistic learning, I found a passion in tutoring and teaching in a way that allows students to have multiple opportunities to understand.
I have worked in the lab of a major hospital in Lincoln for 5 years, previous to receiving my degree. I graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan, a private school, with a dual degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. I've worked in several Child Development Centers and as a nanny with all different ages. I enjoy reading and writing and have experience with editing and grammatical skills as they relate to writing. I teach to the student. I find exactly what their strengths are and incorporate it in some way to learn something new. Education is a set of building blocks and can only be as strong as the foundation.
I graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics. I spent a year as a Substitute Teacher in Lincoln, NE. I then took a year and a half break from teaching to recruit for a small college. I went back into teaching as a grade 7-12 mathematics teacher. I was responsible for the 7th grade through pre-calculus courses at Wheatland Public Schools in Madrid Nebraska. This school was then combined into Grant Public Schools. I am also a strong technical trainer in my current role and provide necessary computer and analytical training to all new associates at the current company I work for.
