My name is Austin Anyanwu, I am a Java programming tutor, a Software Architect/Developer working with a financial institution in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area. I am an instructor, and I tutor both students and professionals in Application Architecture, Application Design and Development in the evenings and on weekends. I have superior knowledge in several programming languages including C-Shape, C++, Javascript, SQL and Java. It has always been a passion of mine to work with and educate young children and youth. I began tutoring at a Elementary School for a few hours when I was in high school as well as assisted other children with math and reading on an as needed basis. When I was away at undergrad school, I was able to work with local Elementary children, but it was not on a consistent basis. Once I graduated from Undergrad, I returned home and began tutoring with my church and volunteered to work with the Sr. Youth Ministry as well. During this time period I also worked with two different tutoring companies.
My teaching style varies based on the child that I am working with that time. From 1997 to 2008 I was a school technologist in Maine public schools. I organized extracurricular programs, worked with individual students and small groups, and co-taught math and science classes. My teaching centered on math, computers, physics, and general science. Some of my extracurricular activities included a robotics club; summer computer programming classes for early elementary students; and field expeditions to study insects.
