I have shadowed in a variety of classrooms, from Kindgergarten Special Education to Second grade gifted math. I have taught gymnastics to children ages 3-18 for over 3 years. I also have an immense background of babysitting and tutoring with children and helping with their homework. Children are my passion, and I love watching them grow. I feel that everyone has the potential to learn and retain the materials that are presented to them in the schools. Sometimes you just need someone to further explain the topic at hand. I do not believe in "giving" away answers. I am willing to explain and reteach a topic until the student fully understands what they are doing. Patience, honesty, determination, and diligence are the qualities that I possess that will help in the tutoring sessions. I want each student to be confident and successful. I own my own science consulting firm and like to dedicate a certain percentage of my time to education and public outreach projects including teaching, mentoring, and tutoring. I have taught high school and college students on and off since 1986 and have had several students go on to VERY successful careers, perhaps one of the best ways to evaluate ones ability as a teacher.
