Experience Summary
As a recent fall 2009 graduate, it is my goal to become an educator and help other students learn the concepts behind mathematics. I want students to understand that math is not a scary subject and that you can enjoy this field area. In the past, I have tutored/volunteered in the following areas of mathematics: Basic math. College Algebra, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Discrete math, and Pre-Calculus. I am always helping someone on the side. Whether it is one question or an entire assignment, it is my pleasure to share my intellect with someone else.
Teaching Style
I feel that everyone has the potential to learn and retain the materials that are presented to them in the schools. Sometimes you just need someone to further explain the topic at hand. I do not believe in "giving" away answers. I am willing to explain and reteach a topic until the student fully understands what they are doing. Patience, honesty, determination, and diligence are the qualities that I possess that will help in the tutoring sessions. I want each student to be confident and successful. I am prepared to work long and hard to achieve the satisfactory grade that would make the student happy.
