It is very important to let children know that there is no wrong or right way of doing their work, as long as it is done correctly. They also need to know that their methods are their own. Children needs reassurance. When A childs' work is not done to one's full potential, it is not my strategy to make them feel like less of a child. It is however, my strategy to work with that child until he/she understands WHY the work was not done correctly, and then let him/her correct the work themself. This in my opinion, lets a child know that we believe in him/her. That is the most important lesson a child can learn. That they are their own person and that they all have the potential to achieve the goals set for them.

My teaching methods include brainstorming, thought organization, use of the thesaurus, and use of adverb and adjective clauses to overcome writer’s block. These are in part “taught” but also developed by recognition and support of inborn talents. Operative use of vocabulary is also imperative to the development of both writing and speaking skills. Practice is as much a key to success as it is in sports, music, or in any discipline. Research is an important tool in the process of effective writing as well as speaking.
