Drawing is one of my top subjects!

I have worked as an English, Math, and Science tutor at both the undergraduate and graduate level for the past 7 years. Within that time, I have tutored countless students that have shown noticeable improvement in their test scores and their understanding of class material. As an undergraduate at Victor Valley College, I was part of the Model United Nations program, the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and the Writing Center. I currently work as a tutor at CSU San Bernardino, where I assist students with writing assignments from a wide variety of disciplines. As a senior/graduate level pre-medical biology major, I am highly experienced with topics ranging from Cellular Respiration to Neuroscience. A Little Bit About Me...

I taught Art for grade levels from 1st through 12th grade for a private school for 3 years. Due to the economy unfortunately our school had to remove the art & p.e. program. I love working with children, and our young adults. I believe art to be a subject matter that should not be left out, as it helps our children grow in other academic areas. When we alow our children to be involved with art we are teaching them to think outside the box, and become a more well rounded person. This in turn teaches them to think more openly about thier other subjects, and develope a brodder understanding of problem solving. I have also tutored in math for elementary, and Algebra for Jr. High and High School students.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of AIPX, I was exposed to everything from the basics of art to how to fully run my own business. Through my education I also gained the ability to present my ideas. I feel that this is a skill that every artist must have. An artist needs to be able to not only create but present, so that the viewer understands. Building this confidence will only open the mind of the young artist and bring out their full potential.
I have always been interested in teaching. I love the idea of being able to pass my knowledge along to younger generations. Without the teachers and mentors that I have had over the years, I would not me as successful as I am now. Working with children is extremely exciting for me. Helping a child develop is an amazing gift and I cant wait to be able to do so.

I believe that an open dialogue is a teacher's most needed resource. Any child needs to feel as though he or she can express concerns or apprehensions without the fear of feeling embarrassed or stupid. I truly believe that there is no such thing as a stupid question. Teaching should, of course, relay necessary information, but it should also foster a student's drive to succeed, as well as the knowledge that any goal can be reached through perserverance.
