I graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2004. I was a member of the Psi Chi National Honors Organization for psychology and received a Dobson Scholarship. I was included in the Dean's Honor List and Who's Who of Colleges and Universities. I have received Honorary Mention in poetry contests and have CPR, Wildland Fire Certification, and Emergency Training for Professionals. I have learned many different theories and ways of teaching, most of which I incorporate in my style of teaching. The ones I really believe in and use most are using a hands on approach using the ideas of inquiry and real life experiences in order to make learning the most meaningful and interesting. All children are different therefore individualized programs are needed in order for the child to succeed. I also believe that children learn both socially and indiviually and that it is important for children to learn in many different ways. A Little Bit About Me...

Earning a degree in Communications accelerated my skills in writing through Journalism, research papers and Rhetorical studies. Additionally, writing is something I enjoy and practice on a daily basis. It has been a number of years since I have tutored a child however, I would like to incorporate my vocational experience as well as my collegiate studies into my teaching practices.
I would love the opportunity to teach grade school children. It was during my formidable years that I can recall a young lady who impacted my education in a very significant way.
