A Little Bit About Me...

I greatly enjoy teaching and developing children of all ages. As a teacher I am constantly challenged to understand each student’s individual needs and to present the material in a way that produces the most joy and therefore increases material retention. I have high expectations for all of my students and make sure they know I believe in them. Filled with confidence and introduced to the right learning experiences, all students have the ability to succeed.
With a BS in Physics and a Masters in Business I greatly enjoy the challenge of academics. I have been a classroom teacher for over 6 years and have tutored students from Pre-K through college age in areas of English and math. I enjoy seeing my students excel.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have participated in two summer school programs (2nd and 4th grade) in NYC that helped prepare students to retake state tests in the areas of math and literacy. I have also been tutoring full-time in Brooklyn, NY for two children ages 8 and 10. Along with this I worked in a recreation center and helped children with their homework from first grade to eighth for two years. I have a teacher certification from birth to grade two and have a BS in Psychology. I have worked with students who are native Spanish speakers and also students with learning disabilities. In my classsroom this past year I had the opportunity to work one-on-one with a student who has language delays, emotional and behavior problems. Earning a degree in Communications accelerated my skills in writing through Journalism, research papers and Rhetorical studies. Additionally, writing is something I enjoy and practice on a daily basis. It has been a number of years since I have tutored a child however, I would like to incorporate my vocational experience as well as my collegiate studies into my teaching practices.
I would love the opportunity to teach grade school children. It was during my formidable years that I can recall a young lady who impacted my education in a very significant way.
