I have always wanted to teach Math and have finally been able to take time off from full time work to obtain the required education to do so. I realize that many folks experience difficulty learning Math. In most cases, there are several ways to teach a particular concept. If one method does not click with a student, I will try another method until we find on that works. I also like to teach using practical examples that students may actually experience in their life to help students understand the value of learning math.
For the past 28 years, I have worked in Industry as an Electrical Engineer. Seeing the look and smile on the face of a student that finally grasps a concept, or realizes they have just read on their own for the first time, OH What a Feeling!!! I take each child as their own individual knowing they have their own needs in learning a subject. I teach in several different ways as to ensure the child grasps what they need. I see children today as my future for tomorrow, so helping them and making a difference in their lives will make a difference in mine. I have not forgotten any individual I have helped to this day.
