I am a stickler for proper sentence structure, grammar, and spelling; I believe that a command of written English can open doors in life which appeared previously to be intractably sealed, and can create either employment or advancement opportunities which might not otherwise have been possible. An obvious example is how a well-written resume and cover letter will many times make all the difference in whether or not you find yourself in front of the interviewer. Our society seems to be losing its affection for the written word, both reading it and composing it, and I have enjoyed the privilege over many years of helping willing individuals refine and sharpen their use of language to express themselves more clearly and accurately.

A Little Bit About Me...

For the past 28 years, I have worked in Industry as an Electrical Engineer. I am currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Mathematical Sciences with the goal of teaching college math, preferably at a Community College. I have experience teaching at the community college level and tutoring in High School Math. While working in industry, I taught many classes including statistics for Six Sigma certification and basic power distribution concepts and calculations. Also, I am a licensed Professional Engineer in Tennessee and South Carolina.

After graduating in 1996, I opened my own tutoring service in Dickson, TN. I tutored individuals from public schools and home school in Math, Reading, and several other subjects needed until 2001. At this time I left Dickson and moved to Clarksville, TN and tutored with A+ Math tutoring intil 2006.
Seeing the look and smile on the face of a student that finally grasps a concept, or realizes they have just read on their own for the first time, OH What a Feeling!!! I take each child as their own individual knowing they have their own needs in learning a subject. I teach in several different ways as to ensure the child grasps what they need. As a graduate from Tennessee Tech University, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Elementary Education. My field experience during college (practicum assignments and student teaching) allowed me to work with a broad range of children – from kindergarten to fifth grade.
