A Little Bit About Me...

My philosophy of education is that all students can learn, and it is up to us as teachers to present materials in a way for their understanding. In the classroom with the use of differntiated instruction and tiered assignments I think this helps reach most learners. I also think the use of manipulatives in the classroom help those students who are more hands-on. It's true that every student learns at a different pace with a different style. I like to see myself as a cameleon teacher, catering my format to individual needs. My style tends to be laid back so that students are comfortable expressing their likes and dislikes with me, curbing their fear of not understanding something. Although I love being with an entire class of students, I feel that some of the most positive and beneficial teaching occurs when I am able to focus on a small group of students.
